PC Components

When it come to digital and electronic marketing obviously the hardware has to be advanced enough to keep up and produce the best results.  So it is crucial that businesses either buy the appropriate equipment or source out the jobs to businesses where they do have the appropriate equipment.

There are a lot of PC manufacturers out there so there is a lot of equipment that can be bought.  By having so many companies there are opportunities for savings.  The manufacturers want your business as often bulk orders are made and then subsequent repairs and upgrades are also likely to be purchased from that business.  They will therefore offer savings when a certain number of components are bought.

Perhaps the most important PC component for design and marketing is the speed and power of the computer.  The computer needs to be able to cope with multiple tasks at once and have enough memory space to store many large files and documents.  The monitors are also very important when it comes to design companies as detail is crucial, so the screens need to be bright, clear and a good size.  Other smaller PC component such as mice, keyboards, speakers and superior internal items can be bought as extras depending n the purpose the PC is used for.  For example, greater memory and processing speed can be purchased to suit the needs of the different computers.  Again with these, the competition is big and there is scope for large purchases, so manufacturers will do what they can to make you buy theirs over competitors, i.e. with deals.

Graphic Design

Graphic design is all about using original ideas and creation in order to make publications visually attractive and eye catching.  Graphic design will often include a mixture of text, image and colour and in some more advanced internet sources, can include motion and video.

The composition of internet pages, leaflets, magazines and overall branding needs to be appropriate for the indented target audience, therefore the design is crucial.  In most cases graphic design will be completed by a design company for another and their ideas will be combined so that both parties are happy with the end product.  The business will often say what they want, but will leave it up to the design agency to decide how exactly everything is done and what exact colours, fonts and image to use.

As markets are getting more competitive and less rigid, businesses need to stand out from their competitors in order to attract new customer and retain old ones.  If their products are similar, which is often the case, they need to make it seem like theirs is better.  Product packing is often the way to that this happens.  If a product is well packaged, pleasing on the eyes and look professional, these attitudes will be reflected upon the product and the brand.  This indicates that this is a very important aspect of a business.  If the customer then visits a webpage or wants more information via leaflets, the appearance has to be high-quality also.  This is where the graphic design has to be consistent across all sources in order to seem professional and help aid brand, logo retention.

Internet Marketing

Internet marketing, or digital marketing are the terms to describe how companies and organisations market their brand, product and services via all sorts of digital media.  So it is not just about advertising on the internet, but also by using the internet to enhance their current marketing.  Such sources of internet marketing are email, banner adverts, web 2.0 and mobile marketing.

Email marketing is a much debated source of marketing, as although it can be very effective with loyal customers who are willing to accept regular emails about offers and services it can be very annoying for others who have not given their permission to be targeted.  This is where email is different to banner adverts.  Email advertisements are invasive as they target individuals in their private email life.  Whereas banner ads are positioned on a webpage and require the internet user to make the effort to engage with the content.

Web 2.0 is a marketing approach where the customer is made central to the businesses strategies and the appropriate internet marketing methods are employed.  For example the use of social media sites to allow for the customer to make comments and upload content is a way of making the customer feel valued and respected.  But at the same allows the business to gather free market research and gain knowledge about their customers.

The advance in mobile phones also allows for greater marketing opportunities as the internet is so easily accessible via phones that they can encourage the use of them with promotional ideas, which can be accessed at any time, anywhere.
